Shuttercount will work on many eos cameras. Im the same ive downloaded countless free software and have had no luck either.and i'm on windows 8.someone mention a greenlantern or something like that but they havent done it yet for my 70d I have tried all available links to free software and none of the programs seem to work in Windows 10 and will not give me any info on my camera, can you help? A relative of mine once paid for the service as he was selling off his EOS 7D on eBay and posted a verified image of his dSLR's total shutter count with his ad listing. You've probably already heard of EOSCount but it's not free but it's been around for quite some time and is a reliable, third party online shutter count retrieval service. There isn't a troubleshooting guide and if you have USB driver problems, you're pretty much on your own. Unfortunately this free software is provided 'as is' and comes with very little, useful accompanying documentation. The software author didn't provide verbose information on his EOS Digital Info app he only briefly mentioned that the older version that uses Canon's Software Development Kit (SDK) ver 2.14 is able to read the shutter count. I have a laptop running Windows 7 64-bit and two on Windows 10 and I also have two other EOS cameras: a 60D (DiGiC 4) and a 650D (DiGiC 5). I'll let you know of my findings when I get to install this software and test it. Just tried the programme, it let me load the programme but when i plugged the camera in even though it said it was compatible i got nothing I have a 7D Mark II which uses the DiGiC 6 and this software can't read the shutter actuations from my camera.ĭo update this thread if it works on your 70D (it should, as it uses the DiGiC 5+).
